Information about SMARTDiode

Utilizing the latest evolution in Laser SMARTDiode technologies – SMARTDiode is the latest method for the removal of unwanted hair, superfast, safe, and pain-free!

A SMARTDiode treatment uses selected wavelengths of low-energy light rapidly pulsed onto the skin (180 times a minute) to gently heat the target hair follicles to cause terminal damage directly to the hair’s chromophores and prevent hair regrowth. Endorsed by leading medical experts the SMARTDiode is safe and highly effective in the treatment of permanent hair reduction.

Unlike traditional laser or IPL, using high energy levels that may cause discomfort and pain, a SMARTDiode treatment is gentle and comfortable, resulting in a pleasant warming of the skin. Active skin cooling through the applicator ensures complete comfort even in the most sensitive areas.

Additional Sessions
At least 6 sessions minimum is required when having laser hair removal.
It’s common to find some Clients who have good clearance after 6 sessions, but a larger percentage of clients need 6-12 sessions.

Each client will be different, as everyone’s hair grows in cycles and for the laser to work we need to catch your hair follicle at a particular time called the anagen stage (growing stage) not all the hair in the area is treated will be in the growth phase at any one time, which is why you will need multiple sessions to try ‘catch’ as many of the anagen hairs as possible and destroy them by the heat from the laser. This is why we can’t, unfortunately, promise you will be hairless in a certain number of sessions, as it all depends on your individual hair growth cycle & how many hairs are in the anagen phase (growing stage) during your sessions.

We always recommend you book an additional session after your course is complete. Timescales will be advised by your laser Technician.

If no new hair has grown by the time of that scheduled appointment, contact us and put the appointment back. Remember we need hair for the laser to target. Or if a new cycle has come in before your scheduled appointment, contact us to get you in earlier.

Our SMARTDiode machine is 2600w, one incredibly powerful machine. So you will start to notice a difference after the first few sessions!

We had additional packages for those who require extra sessions
50% off another course of 6 sessions, 25% off a course of 3 sessions or you have the option to pay per session

**must have already had a course of 6 sessions with Love Laser to benefit from these packages.

A SMARTDiode treatment can be performed on all skin types. The SMARTDiode technology of low energy pulses allows for the successful treatment in both dark and fair skin types alike, even tanned skin. Suitable for both women and men, SMARTDiode is the answer!

PCOS, what it is and how we can help

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), is a common health problem caused by an imbalance of reproductive hormones. The hormonal imbalance creates
problems in the ovaries. POS is a common, but often undiagnosed condition that affects 1 in 10 women.

What causes PCOS?
The exact cause of PCOS is unknown, but it often runs in families. It’s related to abnormal hormone levels in the body, including high levels of insulin. Insulin is a hormone that controls sugar levels in the body. Many women with POS are resistant to the action of insulin in their bodies and produce
higher levels of insulin to overcome this. This contributes to the increased production and activity of hormones like testosterone.

Common Symptoms of PCOS

  • Fertility issues, Difficulty becoming pregnant
  • Period problems, irregular periods, or no periods, which means your ovaries do not regularly release
  • Polycystic Ovaries (PCO), small cysts on the ovaries
  • Weight issues, weight problems, being overweight. Rapid weight gain, difficulty losing weight
  • Metabolic Syndrome, Raised cholesterol, type 2 diabetes & dyslipidemia
  • Acne, skin problems including oily skin, acne.
  • Alopecia, Thinning head-hair, or hair loss.
  • Unwanted Hair Growth, unwanted facial or body hair (hirsutism)

How is PCOS diagnosed?

See a GP if you have any typical symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The GP will:

  • Ask about your symptoms to help rule out other possible causes, and check your blood pressure.
  • Review your health, social, and family history
  • Arrange blood tests and scans to assess hormone/Sugar levels

How is PCOS treated?

There is no cure for PCOS, but it can be managed.

This includes:

  • Lifestyle Change, a healthy balanced diet & increasing physical activity
  • Medical Treatment, with hormones, oral contraception pill & other medication.
  • Laser Hair Removal is the most effective treatment to control excess hair growth. Even though the hair is never permanently removed (Due to androgen hormones always being produced) The hair becomes managed, maintained, reduced, finer and most of all skin becomes clearer and smoother.

How can Love Laser help??
Women who suffer with PCOS can have thick, dark hair on their face, neck, chest, tummy, lower back, buttocks or thighs. Love Laser has witnessed how it affects women’s confidence and mental health.

Those with PCOS usually find it takes a few more sessions to see total hair clearance than it does for those without PCOS.

Most people will need a top-up once a year, but those with PCOS might need a few more sessions/top-ups, as excess androgen can fight hard to make new hair, so we can not guarantee you will be hair free after so many sessions or how long your results will last for.

So with that in mind we have put together a membership package:

Any one area on the face – £20 per month – SAVING £120pa
Half Face – £30 per month – SAVING £480pa
Full Face – £50 per month – SAVING £960pa

We can also offer you a bespoke package at a discounted price if you are thinking about any other areas to be treated, to help maintain the hair regrowth at its minimum.

***Must have had 6 Sessions in this area with Love Laser, before going ahead with this membership.

Consultations

Consultations and patch tests must be completed 48 hours prior to any treatment plan to begin.

The patch test is to ensure the machine settings are correct and you don’t itch or burn. It is extremely rare to burn with laser hair removal. Should you react to the patch test (look strange, itchy, blister(extremely rare) ), then please contact us.

Our Medical Grade Laser Technician will be able to answer all your questions. They will also go through your medication you are taking as this is vital your not taking anything that could possible damage your skin due to photosensitivity.

Consultions should take around 30 minutes to complete, during this we will arrange your first laser session, to secure this session a £50 deposit is required, the remaining balance will be due at your 1st session.

Things to be aware of before having Laser Hair removal

Pain
It is normal to feel a warm prickling sensation, throughout the procedure which means the treatment is working, however, you should not feel any intense pain. We ensure that all our clients will feel comfortable throughout treatments. All clients say it hurts much less than waxing and is quicker.

Treatment time
Hair can only be targeted and destroyed when it’s in the growing stage (anagen) for this reason you need multiple treatments spaced out at appropriate times. Our Laser technician will create a personal treatment plan for you at your consultation, prior to any treatments.

Razors
Don’t ditch the Razors just yet…shaving is the only removal method you can use whilst having laser hair removal. Cancel your waxing appointments, throw away your tweezers, hair removal creams, and bleach!! Doing any of these will mean you will have no hair to destroy. The laser needs the hair shaft to travel down to the hair follicle and destroy it!!

How many sessions?
We recommend a minimum of 6 treatments, with some hair types requiring more. Each client is different & can require anything from 6-12 sessions.

Top up Sessions
Are needed to keep the new hairs at bay, we can only treat the hair that is there at the time of your course and can not unfortunately prevent any new hair growth. These can be generated by medication changes, stress, pregnancy & menopause.

Medication
All changes to medication, including vitamins & contraception need to be made aware to your laser technician before going ahead with the treatment. Not doing so could cause you to have hyperpigmentation, causing your skin to become permanently or semi-permanently darker than the rest.
