Frequently asked questions

How does it work?
Our machine uses selected wavelengths of low-energy light rapidly pulsed onto the skin up to 600 times a minute, to gently heat the target hair follicles causing terminal damage and preventing hair growth. Once the follicle is destroyed it will never grow back, however, new hair follicles can be generated during life events such as medication changes, stress, pregnancy & menopause. So for this, we recommend annual maintenance sessions.

Are there any side effects?
There is a risk of temporary red marks, which can last anywhere from 12-24 hours, but all risks will be explained during your consultation.

How long do you go in between sessions?
We estimate the intervals between sessions based on the area we are treating, the client’s skin and hair type, and any previous experience with hair removal e.g. waxing. Our Laser technician will create a personal treatment plan for you at your consultation, prior to any treatments.

Do you have offers?
Yes, click the link to view our Monthly offer. We also have packages that run all year round.

Is there downtime?
No, you can go about your normal day straight after your treatment, but we advise you not to use saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, lobster hot showers/baths, or exercise for the first 24 hours after your session to ensure best results.

When will I see results?
This can vary, as hair type and skin type are factors in how well your body reacts to laser hair removal. Many of our clients begin to see noticeable changes by around session 5 but we advise that you complete all your sessions to ensure long-lasting results.

Why do I need so many sessions?
Hair follicles grow in cycles and for the laser to work we need to catch your hair follicle at a particular time called the anagen stage (growing stage) not all the hair in the area being treated will be in the growth phase at any one time, which is why you will need multiple sessions to try ‘catch’ as many of the anagen hairs as possible and destroy them by the heat from the laser. Each treatment affects approximately 30% of the hair within the target area. We recommend a minimum of 6 treatments, with some hair types requiring more. Each client is different & can require anything from 6-12 sessions.

Can I still use the sunbed and go abroad on holiday
We can treat tanned skin as long as the tan isn’t active in the skin, therefore we recommend no sun exposure a minimum of 5 days before and 5 days after your treatments. We always recommend wearing a high-factor suncream SPF30+ during your laser treatment program.
**Sensitive or sunburnt skin will not be treated.

Can I use fake/gradual tan?
You need to be fake tan-free for two weeks prior to your session on that area being treated, this is because the laser may respond to false tan and cause an adverse reaction.

Can Laser Hair Removal damage my skin?
In rare cases, laser hair removal can cause changes in the skin texture, blistering, and other differences, but this is a very rare side effect. This is also why we conduct the patch test to ensure that you are safe and will have no adverse reactions to the laser.

How long will the results last?
Laser hair removal will destroy the hair being treated, but cannot stop new hair growth. It is long-lasting and severely reduces the number of hair follicles. Results can last over a year, but to keep on top of smoother hair-free skin, we suggest you come back for annual maintenance sessions.
